On behalf of the Comparative and International Education Society 2026 Planning Committee, I am pleased to announce that 2026 annual conference will be held in San Francisco from March 28 to April 1, 2026. The theme for the 2026 CIES conference is “Re-examining Education and Peace in a Divided World.” With this theme, we aim to revisit one of the most historical and fundamental missions in the field of Comparative and International Education—peace—in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of our Society. The theme encourages a wide range of submissions from diverse perspectives and aims to promote dialogue and generate thought-provoking discussions that will contribute to the broader goal of global peace and social cohesion.

The Call for Papers will open in mid-May 2025. We welcome submissions that reflect diverse educational perspectives and practices across disciplines and regions, particularly those focusing on peace and education, as well as those engaging with broader aspects of Comparative and International Education. In addition to paper presentations, participants will also have the opportunity to take part in interactive workshops and networking events designed to foster collaboration and advance the field of Comparative and International Education.
