The power of protest in education lies in the fact that it is, by definition, a public act. Protest allows people facing injustice to generate power through collective action. As a community of Comparative and International Education researchers, teachers, activists, programme developers or organisers, how might we engage with, and think generatively about, the histories, curriculum, theories and methodologies, and pedagogies that guide acts of protest? Our hope is the CIES 2024 Conference in Miami held online (March 6-7) and onsite (March 10-14) will inspire debates, dialogues, and future collective actions.
CIES invites proposals that respond to the meeting theme and expand the parameters of knowledge production and educational practice. Check this site frequently to stay updated!

CIES 2024
We are so excited to be hosting on-site sessions in Miami, Florida for CIES 2024. On-site, you will experience a full meeting with powerful keynote speakers, plenary situations designed to renew bonds between CIES attendees, social and cultural events, and of course, the main draw of the meeting, concurrent sessions featuring cutting-edge research from our CIES members. The Online Meeting Hub, enhanced from last year, is the only platform that will be used to allow all attendees (including both on-site and virtual participants) to enjoy online sessions. There will be no livestreaming at CIES 2024.

CIES 2024 is an annual meeting, held from March 6-14. It consists of two online days (March 6-7) and five on-site days (March 10-14), with a meeting break in between (March 8-9).
